Modular home construction started gaining acceptance in the early 20th century. Sears Roebuck Co. sold between 70,000 to 100,000pre-fabricated homes between 1908 and 1940. The market continued to grow and evolve through the remainder of the 20th century and into the 21st century.

But modular building for commercial use seems to be a market now gaining momentum.

Green Solutions In Road Construction

According to the Industrial Resources Council, over 300 million scrap tires are generated annually of which almost 40 million end-up in landfills each year.  This is in addition to about 180 million tires in stockpiles. The three major markets for scrap tires are: fuel, civil engineering applications, and ground rubber.  Of the three, tire derived fuel(TDF) is by far the largest market with users including cement kilns, pulp and paper mills, electric utilities, and industrial facilities. TDF is popular because the energy provided by tires is comparable to that of oil and greater than that of coal, plus tires are low in sulphur and NOx gas emissions

Ever wonder why there are so many direct response ads (infomercials) on television?
Because they work! At least in many cases, they do! Direct response marketers have their programs down to a science! They repeatedly drive home the benefits of a product, they use subconscious cues (quiet beach, gentle surf, sunny sky) to give you that warm feeling of peace and tranquility, enlist celebrities to expound on the virtues of their product, and then they call you to action. Many times with a plea of immediacy!

We have found that it is not unusual for a company to begin their quest for a better mobile time tracking system without knowing what devices they will be using.  Many of these companies do not realize that just the size and design of these devices can make a significant impact on what they do, how fast they do it, and how much they will cost. In the following synopsis, we try to lay out a straight-forward comparison of these devices.

Mobile Time Tracking Sync Options

People often ask us, “What  choices do I have for getting my mobile time tracking data from the field back to the office?  Do the options depend on what type of device I’m using?  What are the costs associated with each?

These are all excellent questions, and we’d like to list our responses by type of device as follows:

It’s the middle of your work afternoon, and all of a sudden you hear that sweet little warning beep that tells you your smartphone battery, the one you use for phone calls, emails, news and weather updates, and especially for that fantastic mobile time tracking software application you can’t do without, is about to die!  At this exact moment you start thinking to yourself – why isn’t my battery lasting longer?

Calculating ROI for Mobile Time Tracking Software

Probably the biggest factor in deciding upon a time tracking application is determining what application meets your most important needs at the lowest possible cost.  No system can be the right solution for everybody.  Low price systems will save you money, but will they do what you need them to do?  High end systems may meet your requirements but can also have many features that you may never use.

Welcome to the latest edition of MobileTime, a blog about the issues affecting mobile time tracking, and the Construction Industry in general.  Our goal for this blog is to provide useful, helpful information presented in a concise format to our customers and all others who might benefit. According to Wikipedia, a geo-fence is a virtual perimeter for a real-world geographic area. A geo-fence allows users of the system to draw zones around places of work, customer sites and secure areas. In construction, when an employee or piece of equipment crosses outside the geo-fence( job-site), typically an alert is generated to notify the appropriate company personnel. The incident can then be investigated to determine the facts.
