At mJobTime, we have focused on giving our customers a large number of configuration options to make our application as flexible as possible. However, software programs are designed to accommodate the maximum number of companies possible. We realize that there are going to be situations where mJobTime may not address certain facets of your business processes, but we ultimately strive to provide employee time clock solutions that will be unique to every business.
We look upon these situations as opportunities. This is because we love to get input from our customers about our time clocks for construction as well as our other software. Many times, this input can lead to a new feature or functionality that becomes a standard part of the program. Oftentimes, when the amount of work and time involved is not significant, we will do the work at no charge. Even in those situations where there is a substantial amount of resources required to do the work, if we feel it will improve the product, we often will share the cost of the modification with the customer. In those situations where the customization is very unique to a customer, we will provide a quote for the work and allow the customer to make their own decision.
Whatever the case, our development team has earned quite a reputation for doing outstanding work in a reasonable time period. They will work with you to get a detailed understanding of your needs, propose a solution, develop and test the solution, and follow-up to insure that our employee time clock solutions are working as intended once released. Our customers constantly rave about the amount of time we have saved them with our modifications. Usually, the ROI on our customizations is very short.
Whether it’s a special report or a very specific way to calculate travel or per diem pay, our crackerjack development staff is always ready to meet your custom modification challenges. They thrive on being able to make mJobTime (and our time clocks for construction) meet even your most stringent and unique requirements.
Let us provide you with a personalized demo today. As you can see, a custom time clock from mJobTime can supply your business with many helpful resources.

mJob is most effective when integrated into clear, consistent operational strategies. Here are 7 core practices to maximize efficiency and accountability on your job site:
🧱 1. Standardize Your Digital Processes
📲 2. Emphasize Mobile Simplicity
🕒 3. Enforce Real-Time Data Capture
📈 4. Integrate and Automate Where Possible
🦺 5. Promote Safety and Accountability
💬 6. Foster Communication and Transparency
📚 7. Measure, Review, and Improve
🧩 Bonus Tip: Keep It Human
Even the best smart app won’t replace good leadership. Regular site visits, open communication, and recognition for accurate reporting or productivity improvements go a long way toward ensuring tech adoption actually sticks.
The “wrench time” reality check shows that non-productive time is a silent killer, costing companies tens of thousands of dollars annually in lost profit (not just wages, but fully-burdened labor rates). This non-productivity—caused by waiting, excessive travel, and administrative waste—snowballs into project delays and faulty future estimates. To fix this invisible drain, you must use real-time, accurate field data provided by mJob to measure and correct bottlenecks.
Want to capture more info from your crews when they clock in or out? You can now set up **custom questions** to appear during clock in or clock out — right from the mJob **Web App** or **iOS App**.
Here’s how to get the most out of this feature 👇
If your teams speak multiple languages, you can make questions available in each one.
Head to **Maintenance → Daily Log Events** and add a new event for each question you want to display.
Once your questions are ready, group them together under **Maintenance → Daily Log Forms**.
💡 You can even use **Event Filters** to show follow-up questions based on prior answers — for example, show “Ambulance Required?” only if “Injury Occurred” = Yes.
Foremen can choose which language and phrasing to display:
Currently, only Clock Out questions are available on iOS.
Foremen can enable and customize them under:
At mJob, we’re always working to make your field management experience faster, smarter, and more connected — and this year is shaping up to be one of our most exciting yet.
Our development team has been hard at work on several new features designed to simplify life in the field, including enhanced real-time dashboards, improved material tracking, and customizable mobile reports that give your teams the data they need — right when they need it. These updates are all focused on one goal: helping you make better decisions, faster.
But innovation doesn’t happen in a vacuum. Many of our best ideas come directly from you — our customers. Your feedback, suggestions, and everyday use of mJob continue to shape how we evolve. Whether it’s a request for a new feature or an idea to make existing tools even easier to use, we’re listening — and we’re grateful.
As we look ahead, our mission remains clear: to deliver technology that works as hard as you do. Thank you for being part of the mJob family and for helping us build better solutions for the construction industry, together.
Warm regards,
Mike Soniat
