Do You Know Where Your Time Is Going? Mobile and cloud-based time tracking systems have come a long way in a short period of time. From very basic beginnings these applications have become increasingly sophisticated, utilizing the latest technology to quickly and accurately track labor time, equipment time, and other jobsite information. These programs have consistently provided significant improvement in worker efficiency and productivity, but they are not free. Paper Timesheets Could be Costing Your Company One of the most common issues in tracking employee time is “buddy punching” where one employee punches the clock for another employee is who late to work, leaves early, or is absent altogether. Buddy punching is relatively easy to accomplish when a company collects its time for field or shop employees using paper timesheets, punch cards, bar code badges, or proximity cards. Most of the time these purchase decisions involved thousands of dollars and were intended to solve a very real and pressing need. Not only have these companies spent a significant amount of money, but now they have nothing to show for it. The original problems still exist.
